Day 01
Arrive in Cochin :
Arrive Cochin, Met & transfer to your hotel. Afternoon drive across Willington Island and the Kochi Shipyard to Mattancherry. Visit the St. Francis Church, the oldest European built church in India. It was constructed in 1503 by Portugues San Franciscan friars. The Jewish Synagogue (Closed on Saturday’s & Jewish Holidays, Visitors with Trousers/Bermudas/Sleeveless T-shirts / Tops not allowed) built in 1568 AD, is the oldest in the common-wealth. It is adorned by hundreds of blue and white hand-painted tiles. The 1555 Portuguese built Mattancherry Palace was gifted to the Maharaja of Kochi as a good-will gesture to ensure trade privileges. The Palace is now converted to a Museum, open 10 am to 5 pm (Closed on Fridays). Continue to Giant Chinese Fishing nets at harbor’s entrance that silhouetted against the sunset, present a magnificent sight of the water-front. These huge cantilevered nets are a legacy of traders between 1350 and 1450 from te court of Kublai Khan. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02
Cochin-Munnar :
Drive 4 hours to this beautiful Hill station of Munnar. The drive is through groves of jackfruit trees, pineapple plantation, past beautiful churches with endearing facades and past spice and coffee plantations. Munnar is responsible for a good portion of south India’s tea production. It is a nature lover’s paradise, a picture book town with winding lanes and heady fragrance of fresh tea. It is 1800 meters above sea level and has the highest peak in South India – Anamudi. On arrival Check-in at your hotel. Noon drive around Tea Plantations and take in the scenic beauty. Overnight at the hotel -
Day 03
Munnar-Periyar :
Morning drive 5 hours to Periyar through a beautiful Mountain road. Check-in at your hotel. Afternoon enjoy Common Boat ride on Periyar Lake to view the wildlife. Also time permitting enjoy a spice Plantations visit. Overnight at the hotel. -
Day 04
Periyar-Kumarakom ::
Morning drive 5 hours to Kumarkom and check-in your backwater resort, a unique destination situated on the banks of the Vembanad Lake is considered the gateway to the backwaters. You may catch the spectacular sunset and relax on your resort, next to the Lake . You may also try the famous Ayurvedic Spa/Massage at your own expense. Overnight at your resort -
Day 05
Kumarakom-Alleppey :
Morning free to relax till your private (Non-A/C) Houseboat picks you up at 12 Noon for a cruise on the Backwaters, One of the highlights of your trip. The complex network of lagoons, lakes, rivers and canals fringing the coast of Kerala forms the basis of a distinct regional lifestyle. Enjoy a cruise on the emerald palm fringed backwaters of Kerala. Lunch/Dinner and Overnight on board your Houseboat.
